How It Works
Each image is drawn onto a canvas sized to your target dimensions using the browser's Canvas API. In "Exact Dimensions" mode, if you leave either width or height blank, the other is calculated automatically to preserve the original aspect ratio, so your image won't look stretched.
Tips for Best Results
- Leave either width or height blank in "Exact Dimensions" mode so the tool locks the aspect ratio automatically — filling in both fields with mismatched proportions will visibly stretch or squash the image.
- For web or social use, resizing down to the platform's actual display size (rather than uploading a full-resolution original) noticeably speeds up page loads and saves upload time.
- Scaling an image up rarely looks great — the resizer can enlarge a photo, but it can't invent detail that wasn't captured in the original, so heavily upscaled images tend to look soft.

What happens if I fill in both width and height?
The image is resized to exactly those dimensions, which can distort the image if the aspect ratio doesn't match the original. Leave one field blank to preserve proportions automatically.
Can I make an image larger, not just smaller?
